Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Physiologist to join our team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. As a Clinical Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lung function testing and providing specialist advice to clinicians and colleagues.

Main Duties

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing and contributing to the day-to-day running of a highly specialist clinical service at the Bexhill Community Diagnostic Centre.
  • Independently undertaking a range of routine and advanced diagnostic tests, procedures, and providing specialist advice to clinicians and colleagues as required.
  • Analysing and interpreting lung function test results and explaining their meaning clearly to patients and carers.
  • Being responsible for the daily operation of the lung function laboratory in accordance with clinical governance and waiting time requirements.

Person Specification

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • BSc Clinical Physiology/Science or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for entry onto the Register of Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continued professional development, including knowledge of specialist and advanced procedures.
  • Evidence of continued professional development to Masters level or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • Already registered on the RCCP voluntary register.
  • ARTP Part 1 and Part 2 exams or equivalent.
