Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Backend Software Developer to join our team at PSR. As a Backend Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software products that make up citizen services and contributing towards their design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java, Spring Boot microservices running on AWS.
  • Use Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) to ensure services are well-tested, scalable, and secure.
  • Utilize MongoDB to securely store and efficiently retrieve data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and liaise with Principal Software Engineers and Technical Architects to investigate technical solutions.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation for wider consumption.
  • Carry out agreed infrastructure maintenance tasks.
  • Provide third-line support on products developed, including out-of-hours support as needed.
  • Contribute to community discussions about best practices within Software Engineering.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Software Engineer colleagues and peers.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Java Developer using Spring Boot.
  • Experience with cloud computing, ideally AWS.
  • Experience working with a No-SQL database such as MongoDB.
  • Experience using TDD and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
