Job Title: Senior Software Support Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Brough, or Filton. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Support Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Senior Software Support Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing software products, deriving software support strategies, and providing software SME advice to the wider ILS community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze software products (COTS, Bespoke, Modified COTS) and derive software support strategies.
  • Review software source documentation, interpret technical information, and derive written recommendations on how best to support the software product through life.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and attend collaboration working groups in support of BAES scope of work for maintenance design (software).
  • Provide software SME advice to the wider ILS community and support mapping activity between the BAE software analysis outputs and other key ILS stakeholders and their support outputs.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent skills knowledge and experience in the software support discipline.
  • A background of Support Engineering/Integrated Logistic Support would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of lifecycle management.
  • An understanding of different software products (COTS, Bespoke, Modified COTS).
  • Able to interpret software and technical information.
