We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our client's engineering team in Lancaster. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading product development and championing product improvements. This role requires a combination of design activities, hands-on problem-solving, and innovation in a busy, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience (5+ years) in design engineering, preferably in the heavy engineering sectors. Proficiency in Mathcad and Autodesk software is essential, as well as strong structural hand calculation skills and experience with finite element analysis tools such as Orcaflex and ANSYS.

The company offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000, depending on experience, and a generous benefits package, including 25 days holiday, private medical cover for you and your family, and a contributory pension scheme. You will also have flexible and hybrid/remote working options tailored to your needs.

You will work closely with sales, project management, and customers, utilising Autodesk tools for design, modelling, and drafting, performing finite element analysis using advanced simulation tools, and creating detailed engineering and assembly drawings for manufacturing and testing.
