Job Title: ACCA Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ACCA Accountant to join our team at YourRecruit (UK). As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for leading the team with cloud accounting and ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounting services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and complete corporate and small limited company and self-employed accounts, working from client-provided and in-house completed bookkeeping.
  2. Prepare corporation tax returns (CT600) with appropriate calculations and complete self-assessment tax returns for individuals and self-employed traders.
  3. Assist in-house bookkeepers with their accounting and software queries, especially when needed to correct errors and update and reconcile ledgers.
  4. Carry out VAT checks and reviews of bookkeeper's work and liaise with clients to obtain information to complete above tasks.
  5. Comply with financial laws, regulations, and standards alongside in-house policies and report discrepancies and issues (including potential fraud) to senior management.
  6. Migrate clients onto cloud bookkeeping, including setting up opening balances and integrating any third-party apps (e.g., tills, sales channels, stock control, payment systems, etc.).
Requirements:
  1. Accountancy practice background essential.
  2. Qualified ACA or ACCA (or near completion).
  3. Good communication skills and ability to manage time effectively and efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  4. Keeping personal accounting qualifications up to date.
  5. Experience of dealing with company and self-employed accounts and tax returns, including dealing with HMRC.
  6. Strong working knowledge of one or more cloud accounting software packages, preferably Xero, along with onboarding clients onto the system.
  7. Good Microsoft Office (especially Excel) skills.
  8. Polite telephone manner and good interpersonal skills.
  9. Strong attention to detail.
