Health and Safety Manager at Heathrow Airport

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join their team at Heathrow Airport. This is a 6-month contract initially, Inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Health and Safety across the business and projects delivered within the account, including the main site at Heathrow Airport.
  • Support the Operations Manager and Project Managers in identifying hazards and managing risks.
  • Educate employees on required safety standards within the workplace.
  • Install and nurture a strong H&S culture within the team and 3rd party contractors.
  • Undertake routine site inspections and internal audits.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety records and documentation are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace across all locations.
  • Conduct detailed DSE and manual handling assessments when needed.
  • Maintain online E-learning programmes.
  • Organise first aid and site-specific fire training and maintain records.
  • Undertake specific risk assessments.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a H&S coordinator or admin role is essential, with understanding of Infrastructure cabling and/or onsite construction processes.
  • Experience and understanding of Health and Safety issues in a construction environment.
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • The ability to analyse data and identify performance trends.
  • Ability to prepare complex risk assessments.
  • Experience of conducting internal audits and inspections.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • A genuine passion and enthusiasm for Health and Safety.
