Key Responsibilities

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will support and enhance pupils' learning, contributing effectively to classes and advancing their educational achievement.

Key duties include:

  • Supporting pupils' learning in various classroom settings, including individual and group work
  • Monitoring pupils' responses to learning tasks and modifying your approach accordingly
  • Having high expectations of all pupils and respecting their individual backgrounds
  • Being familiar with the school curriculum, age-related expectations, and teaching methods
  • Covering and leading class teaching, under supervision
  • Working within a framework set by the teacher to plan lessons and provide feedback
  • Organising and managing learning activities, physical teaching space, and resources
  • Contributing to the selection and preparation of teaching resources
  • Promoting high standards of English and Maths
Requirements

We are looking for an energetic and innovative Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will need to be a good team player and have the flexibility to work in a busy school environment.

Key qualifications include:

  • Desirable - Meet higher level teaching assistant standards or equivalent qualifications or experience
  • Relevant qualification in Art or related subject (ideally level 5 or above)
  • Good qualifications in English and Maths
About the Role

This role involves a variety of duties, including working in small groups, with individual children, and cover teaching whole classes when the teacher is not available.
