Hearing Impaired Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to support students with hearing impairments in our Hearing Impaired Unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum, tailored to their individual needs and understanding.
  • Assist in implementing needs outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Provide general classroom support to teachers, maintaining a calm and inclusive environment.
  • Promote the inclusion of all students, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Supervise and provide personalized support for students, encouraging independent learning and group collaboration.
  • Assist students in developing basic skills in language, reading, writing, spelling, and mathematics.
  • Liaise with teachers and external professionals to support special programs or Inclusion Support Plans.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, contributing to the Annual Review of EHCPs.
  • Support the development of students' ICT skills and use of technology in learning activities.
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to suit students' understanding levels.
  • Build positive relationships with parents/carers, providing feedback as guided by teachers.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, student physical needs, and encourage positive behaviour in line with the School's Behaviour Policy.
  • Support students during school visits, trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Participate in training opportunities and performance development.
