About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychologist to join our SAFE Team, working within the CAMHS service. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality psychology service to young people and their families, working closely with the team to embed a trauma-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide applied psychology services to young people known to the SAFE Service, including psychometric testing, specialist forensic risk assessments, and psychological interventions.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines, exercising responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service/team.
  • Support the Team Manager in implementing policy and service development changes within the team.
  • Provide internal psychological consultancy to non-psychologists on psychological risk factors related to mental health issues, neurodevelopmental disorders, and forensic behaviour.
  • Support the management team in the implementation of a high-quality service and advise on mental health, neuro, and risk-related matters.

Requirements
  • Current registration with the Health Care Professions Council as a Psychologist.
  • Doctoral level training in applied psychology, including models of psychopathology, psychometrics, and neuropsychology.
  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
  • Experience of working as a highly specialist psychologist within CAMHS and/or the criminal justice system.
  • Experience of working with patients presenting with the full range of clinical severity across a range of care settings.
