About the Role

We are seeking a proactive individual to project-manage the upscaling and development of our technical infrastructure, focused on digitising critical mass of natural science collections as FAIR data. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise, project management experience, and leadership skills.

This 10-year programme aims to create a step change in digitisation rates, with a well-supported backbone of technology infrastructure and continued innovation through AI and robotics. You will have already mobilised more than 14m records and be looking to accelerate the rate of digitisation from 2026 onwards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and leading complex technical development projects to time, budget, and scope, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams. They will also develop innovative approaches to support this critical research, leveraging their expertise in Artificial Intelligence and robotics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a strategy for upscaling and developing technical infrastructure to support digitisation efforts.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to scope.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation and calculated risk-taking to drive progress.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
