About the Role:
This Sponsored Reserve Firefighter position is an exciting opportunity to join the RAF Firefighter force and provide Aerodrome & Rescue Firefighting capabilities to Defence across the UK and overseas.
As a Reserve Firefighter, you will be part of a highly trained team that responds to and fights fires in the UK, as well as rescues from military aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergencies on the Defence estate and assist in providing fire safety awareness to Station personnel.
- Deploy in the UK and overseas to support operations and exercises in potentially challenging environments.
- Use highly specialised vehicles and equipment, and maintain and hone your professional firefighter skills.
Requirements:
- Citizenship of the UK or Republic of Ireland, or a dual UK/other nationality passport, or Commonwealth citizenship from birth.
- Residency in the UK for 5 years preceding application (candidates with 3 years considered).
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics, or SCE Standard Grade 3 in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Full driving license and fitness to complete initial and specialist training.
- Meet health requirements, including Body Mass Index, eyesight, and medical conditions.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary of £27,650 per annum, increasing to £31,106 per annum once fully trained.
- Remuneration package of £7,000 per deployment, plus £1,500 Operational Training Supplement.
