Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, effective, efficient, and quality-driven acquisition of plant/facility spares, materials, consumables, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Main Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Work Planning function and Local Demand Community to ensure all tasks requiring materials are identified, ordered, and delivered effectively.

  • Monitor material demands against the Work Schedule to maintain quality material information within the warehouse management system.
  • Provide regular updates to the Demand Community on goods and materials status in support of T-6 Go/No Go decisions.
  • Check and collate delivered goods against relevant order paperwork to ensure accuracy before distribution, preventing delays in the work management process.
  • Collate an inventory of unused spares and materials to feedback into the work management process, ensuring value for money.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and records, as well as visual information boards, to ensure a safe working environment and oversight of estimated deliveries.
  • Collate and provide required key performance measures to improve overall plant/facility performance, identify trends, and drive improvements.
  • Support identification of existing, appropriate spares stock from local, site, and inventory-managed stock to avoid duplication, lead-time delays, and unnecessary supply chain expenditure, contributing to SL efficiencies and excess stock reduction.
  • Actively contribute to site-wide PIC process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and value to the business.

Requirements

  • Experience of IT systems, including the Windows suite (Outlook, Microsoft Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise others using technical knowledge.
  • Team player with flexibility to work as part of an enterprise-wide support function.
  • Experience of working within an industrial setting.

Essential Skills

  • Competent IT skills across the Windows suite (MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrable experience of good communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • The ability to undertake physically demanding work, including manual handling activities and the use of a manual pallet truck.

Desirable Skills

  • Awareness of SAP and its functions.
  • Experience of working within a stores/warehouse management environment.
