Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Automation Developer to join our team at the Scottish Government. As a key member of our Automation Centre of Excellence, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery and management of complex Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and automated solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and implementation of automation processes, employing process optimisation techniques and LEAN/agile methodologies where required.
  2. Collaborate with senior stakeholders and end users throughout the project lifecycle, from identification to deployment.
  3. Oversee the design, build, testing, and deployment of automation process solutions, defining process and technical solutions, prototyping, and configuring digital components.
  4. Identify and manage obstacles to help the team to overcome them, balancing multiple priorities and improving system robustness, resilience, and stability.
  5. Define control mechanisms and oversee the prioritisation, investigation, and resolution of issues and change requests in the production environment.
  6. Work with the technical architect and Senior management team to formulate long-term development strategy and ensure quality assurance.
  7. Demonstrate strong stakeholder management and engagement, encouraging and facilitating continuous improvement.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in automation and process optimisation. You will have a proven track record of delivering complex projects and a strong understanding of LEAN/agile methodologies.
