Estimator Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our sales and estimating team at Hunter Mason Consulting. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the metalwork or associated construction industry trade, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating architectural metalwork, secondary steelwork, and structural steel.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Produce accurate quotations and negotiate tenders with clients
  2. Work closely with the contracts and design department at both pre-submission and post-order stage
  3. Estimate architectural metalwork, secondary steelwork, and structural steel
  4. Read architects and engineers' drawings
  5. Obtain supplier quotations and negotiate
  6. Prepare quotations to meet deadlines
  7. Draft detailed quotations
  8. Liaise with clients to discuss tender submissions
  9. Sales follow-ups of quotations
  10. Attend client meetings and occasional site visits
Requirements:
  1. Understanding of metalwork or associated trade
  2. Background in construction industry or manufacturing
  3. Good IT skills
  4. Excellent communication skills
  5. Ability to work well in a team and with good people skills
  6. Ability to work on own initiative and self-motivated
  7. Good planning and organisational skills
  8. Positive attitude to work with attention to detail
  9. Flexible approach and able to prioritise tasks
