Job Title: Mechanical Reliability Specialist

PM Group is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Specialist to join their team in Lancashire. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and a proven track record of delivering asset management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a mechanical engineer consultant to provide engineering expertise and assistance with the development and deployment of the Asset Management Strategy.
  • Provide technical support to the Maintenance and Production teams.
  • Identify, design, and implement improvements within maintenance and operations to ensure they meet SHE, Quality, Availability, and cost targets.
  • Lead root cause analysis of equipment failures using Maintenance Investigation Reports (MIR) to identify root cause and implement mitigation measures to prevent reoccurrence.

Requirements:

  • Proven technical knowledge of mechanical equipment specific to a production plant focused on rotating equipment such as pumps and centrifuges.
  • Knowledge of core fluid mechanics including the design and operation of pumped systems.
  • Working knowledge of the implementation and operation of systems to comply with legal duties such as PSSR, PUWER & LOLER.
  • Strong communication skills with experience of technical report writing.
  • A high level of attention to detail and a working knowledge of Continuous Improvement Techniques such as Six Sigma and Lean.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to manage time and workload against conflicting priorities.
  • Degree qualified in an engineering discipline, preferably with chartership of a professional body.

Off-Payroll Working Rules: This role is believed to be outside IR35.
