Electrical Test and Commissioning Specialist

Our client, a renowned electro-mechanical engineering service company, is seeking a skilled Test and Commissioning Engineer to join their team in Aberdeen.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver both workshop and site-based activities, ensuring the highest level of customer service and technical support.
- Demonstrate excellent electrical fault finding and rectification skills, with a strong understanding of commercial awareness.
- Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of protective relaying equipment, as well as function testing of control circuits on relay panels, transformers, and circuit breakers.
- Carry out end-to-end protection relay testing, repairs, and maintenance on switchgear and circuit breakers, including replacing SF6 gas and routine switchgear assembly.
- Complete all paperwork, including reports, timesheets, and expense claims, in a timely and accurate manner to support efficient invoice processing.
- Ensure issues and risks are escalated to Management for investigation and resolution.
- Verify risk assessments and method statements are correct for the work involved and signed by all parties.
- Travel and work at site outside of regular office hours as required.
- Relevant experience in installing, maintaining, and testing electrical systems.
- Knowledge of HV and LV switchgear, relays, and associated equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, arresters, switches, automation, insulated power cables, overhead line conductors, and insulators.
- Understanding of electrical prints, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Familiarity with metering instrumentation hardware and software.
- Experience in panel wiring and high-level PC literacy, including MS Excel.
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practice, and industry performance standards.
- Project management skills.
