Job Title: SEN Teacher - Functional Skills English & Maths Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team in Chorley. As a specialist in Functional Skills English and Maths, you will be responsible for developing and delivering tailored lessons for KS3 and KS4 students with a range of additional needs.

About the Role:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons in Functional Skills English and Maths for students with SEMH and ASD needs.
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of our students.
  • Assess, track, and report on individual student progress in line with IEPs.
  • Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic support for each student.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with relevant teaching experience.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly SEMH, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Strong understanding of Functional Skills curriculum in English and Maths.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and safeguarding practices.
