About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing the multi-channel merchandising strategy for their own product area. As an integral part of the Merchandising team, you will enjoy working in a busy fast-paced retail support office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a customer-centric category range strategy
- Manage the category budget and optimize sales and margin
- Accurately forecast demand, OTB, returns, and margin
- Build relationships with internal teams to develop and optimize product lines
- Monitor market and competitor activity
Working with Cross-Functional Teams
- Collaborate with warehousing, shipping, finance, and sales teams to optimize sales and margin
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance
- Contribute to supplier review processes
- Highlight and review stock management and flow to increase sales of high-performing lines and reduce less successful lines
- Take ownership of your area and address category issues as they arise
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail merchandising is essential
- Good level of education is required
- Highly accurate with a good attention to detail
- Ability to manage a varied workload
- High commercial awareness
- Strong numerical skills with the ability to analyze data
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise and influence effectively at all levels
- Good working knowledge of MS Office products, specifically Excel
