About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy Ophthalmology team at the University Hospital of Wales. As a Health Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with various eye conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist qualified nurses with procedures and clinics, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for patients.
  • Work closely with Ophthalmologists to provide excellent care and support to patients and their families.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Develop strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
Requirements
  • Previous hospital experience, preferably in an ophthalmology setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including Saturdays on a rota basis.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in caring for patients with eye conditions, knowledge of ophthalmology procedures, and proficiency in Welsh.
