Senior Dental Officer - Catterick & Northallerton

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Dental Officer to join our Community Dental Service in Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality dental care and experience in treating adults and children with additional dental needs.

The Community Dental Service is a specialized service that provides dental treatment for patients who require additional support due to learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or vulnerability. As a Senior Dental Officer, you will be responsible for the clinical treatment of paediatric and adult patients, including those with special needs.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Providing efficient and responsive clinical treatment under local anaesthetic, conscious sedation, and general anaesthesia for patients within the HDFT CDS locality.
  • Providing advice and emergency care to all groups of patients seen within the community dental service.
  • Providing continuing care to patients with special needs who are unable to be treated within the general dental service.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be:

  • Fully registered with the GDC.
  • Experienced in working within CDS.
  • Skilled in the use of GA.
  • Able to teach and supervise trainees.

This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Check. Salary: £74,126 to £86,701 a year pro-rata per annum.
