Job Summary
The Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Highway Inspector. As a key member of our Highway Maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality asset management services to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out programmed and ad hoc inspections of the road network to identify and report defects and hazards.
- Deal with emergency and safety defects in accordance with the Highway Operational Standards.
- Provide evidence to support inspections and respond to third-party claims and insurance issues.
- Manage highway work, works ordering, and correspondence in a geographical area.
- Support the Team Leader and other managers in delivering the Council's objectives through joined-up service planning, community engagement, and resource allocation.
Requirements
- Experience in highway maintenance and a sound technical understanding of highways.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge and application of asset management principles.
- Ability to build relationships with customers, businesses, partner organizations, and stakeholders.
