About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Programme Manager to join our team at the Local Government Association. As a key member of our public health team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing specialist local public health programmes to improve health and wellbeing and address health inequalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust and effective public health programmes to improve health and wellbeing and address health inequalities.
  • Work with a range of partners and stakeholders to achieve programme objectives.
  • Apply public health knowledge and skills to create and implement plans that drive positive change.
  • Contribute to strategic priorities and the ambition of the Health and Wellbeing Board and Healthier Wigan Partnership.
  • Lead on and participate in multi-agency project teams and groups to achieve departmental objectives.

About You:

We are looking for an individual with a thorough understanding of asset-based working and how this approach can be applied throughout the design and delivery of programmes and projects. You will have excellent knowledge and understanding of evidence-based public health practice and relevant statutory requirements, a proven commitment to addressing health inequalities, and a sound understanding of current health policy and systems.
