We're looking for a skilled Finance Manager to join our team at Brackenberry in London. This role involves working closely with a Local Authority to support their financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. To contribute to the annual budget review process, helping to develop the next financial year's budget and inform the medium-term financial plan.
  2. To provide detailed analysis of funding announcements and changes, refining financial models to accurately assess their impact on the Council's overall funding.
  3. To support the creation of the annual revenue budget for the authority, collaborating with service areas to set council tax accurately and produce required reports for CMT and members.
  4. To oversee specific aspects of Collection Fund accounting, including modelling the council tax base, monitoring its impact, and evaluating related legislation.
  5. To assess the impact of spending plans on Council Tax levels, comparing this data against other authorities when required.

In addition to your skills and experience, you should have AAT qualifications or equivalent, as well as two years' experience in local government finance and proficiency in financial systems within a large complex organisation.
