Job Duties:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons to students, fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and principles.
  • Evaluate students' progress through assignments and examinations, providing constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
  • Provide individualised support to students, tailoring instruction to meet their unique needs and abilities.
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment in the classroom, promoting a love of mathematics and a sense of community among students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies, sharing best practices and expertise to drive student success.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding students' academic progress, keeping them informed and involved in their child's education.
Required Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Mathematics, demonstrating a strong foundation in mathematical knowledge and pedagogy.
  • Degree in Mathematics or related field, showcasing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and principles.
  • Proven experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level, with a track record of success in engaging and supporting students.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the national curriculum and educational policies, ensuring compliance and best practice in teaching and learning.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field, providing a solid foundation in mathematical knowledge and skills.Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level, with a proven ability to adapt to the needs of individual students and the classroom environment.Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and principles, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Adaptability to meet the needs of individual students, with a willingness to innovate and try new approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Organisational skills to effectively plan and deliver lessons, with a focus on student engagement and academic success.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate qualification in Education, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay at the forefront of educational best practice.
  • Experience using technology in the classroom to enhance learning, with a willingness to explore new tools and resources to support student success.
Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a school environment, following the academic calendar. The teacher will be expected to work full-time hours during term time, with additional responsibilities such as parent-teacher meetings and extracurricular activities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
