Rutherford Briant is seeking a highly skilled External Reporting Manager to join their Finance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the statutory and regulatory team in an FCA regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Year-End Process Coordination: Oversee the coordination of the year-end process of the annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Financial Statement Compliance: Ensure that annual financial statements are in compliance with IFRS and legal requirements, maintaining the highest standards of financial reporting.
- External Auditor and Tax Adviser Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors and tax advisers, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Regulatory and Tax Reporting: Deliver regulatory, tax, and other external reporting deliverables, providing technical accounting, regulatory reporting, and tax insight.
- Team Leadership: Take responsibility for the provision of appropriate information to external audit, ensuring efficient timescales and meeting year-end timetables.
- Deputy Group Financial Controller: Deputise for the Group Financial Controller for External Reporting related activities, providing support and ensuring continuity.
- Qualifications: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
- Experience: Extensive experience working in an external reporting role, producing/reviewing financial statements and managing teams.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of chart of accounts, accounting ledgers, reporting systems, IFRS accounting standards, and statutory financial statements requirements.
- Industry Knowledge: Ideally experience within an insurance intermediary with an understanding of regulatory reporting for such entities, but not essential.
- Competitive Salary: £70,000 - £75,000
