About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Surveyor to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a professional and reliable service by delivering a technical surveying service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct annual stock condition surveys to assess property conditions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide clear instructions and supervision for in-house maintenance operatives to ensure high-quality work.
  • Raise works orders for both in-house staff and external contractors to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Produce accurate and concise reports using Office applications and bespoke software to inform decision-making.
  • Manage contractors effectively to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Inspect properties, diagnose building defects, and create specifications for repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide accurate estimates for building works to ensure budgetary compliance.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • HNC qualification in building or construction or equivalent.
  • Experience of property inspection, maintenance contracting, and front-line working with contractors.
  • Experience of planned and reactive surveying works.
  • A valid driving licence is essential for travel to site.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of customers.
