Job Description

Job Title: Storage Systems Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Storage Systems Engineer to join our team at Axiom Software Solutions Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise storage systems to ensure high availability, performance, and data security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement storage solutions that meet business requirements and ensure data security and integrity.
  • Configure and troubleshoot SAN infrastructure, including switches, directors, and storage arrays.
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate administrative tasks and provide system-level reports.
  • Perform capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure optimal storage utilization.
  • Participate in the development of SAN-level solution standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure understanding of business cases and selection of appropriate solutions.
  • Develop solutions that reduce operating costs and improve guest and crew experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with advances and changes in the technology industry and work with vendors to assess new technologies.
  • Contribute to the improvement of processes and tools in the environment and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Resolve complex issues independently and coordinate changes and issues with clients and team members.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of enterprise storage management and SAN infrastructure.
  • Experience with storage arrays, switches, and directors from vendors such as EMC, Pure, and Cisco.
  • Strong understanding of fiber channel concepts and zoning.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages and automation tools.
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment and participate in rotational weekend and night shifts.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of VMware infrastructure and datastore provisioning.
  • General understanding of networking concepts such as VLAN trunking, LACP, IP addressing, and routing.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Ensure vendors and services providers are providing optimal value to Axiom Software Solutions Limited.
  • Review and evaluate team work.
  • Develop and maintain IT standards and service catalogs.
  • Lead efforts to improve processes and meet strategic goals within the team.
  • Develop team technology and process roadmaps.
  • Ensure team follows IT processes, including Change & Release management.
