About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solicitor to join our team in Child Protection. As a Solicitor, you will provide expert legal guidance and advice to colleagues, managers, and partner agencies on matters related to child protection.

Working closely with the Housing and General Litigation Team, you will undertake a range of tasks, including conducting proceedings, public enquiries, appeals, and judicial reviews in the Courts and before Tribunals. You will also draft, prepare, and collate statements of case and other legal documentation, as well as advising on law and evidence, interviewing witnesses, and drafting statements and affidavits.

About You

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx with at least five years of relevant post-qualification experience. You will have a broad knowledge of Local Government law and the ability to work constructively with Council members to a high degree of political sensitivity.

You will be a natural communicator with excellent negotiating and influencing skills, able to effectively communicate standard and complex legal issues to Members and officers, and provide cogent legal advice accordingly.
