We are seeking a highly skilled General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Lewes, a category B remand prison based in East Sussex. The prison houses around 692 patients aged between 18-65, including an inpatient unit. As part of this role, you will complete ward rounds on the inpatient unit and deliver clinical sessions. This position would suit a GP who is looking to deliver end-to-end care, as a large proportion of the patients have long-term conditions.
Salary and BenefitsThis is a part-time fixed-term contract for 6 months, working 24 hours per week. You will receive an annual salary up to £126,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, further developing your knowledge in areas you may not typically experience within a practice or A&E environment.
- Providing clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients' requirements, making timely decisions regarding future management.
- Providing a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with, having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- MBChB or MBBS qualification.
- Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
- Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.
