About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Counsellor to join our team at the Transformation Unit, working as an IAPT Counsellor (Maternity Cover) in a Band 7 role.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will have experience of working in an IAPT service and be qualified in one of the IAPT compliant modalities. They will be responsible for counselling assessments and interventions, working with adults presenting with depression, using a stepped care model in line with the national IAPT programme and NICE guidelines for psychological interventions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to adults with mild to moderate anxiety and depressive symptoms
  • Conduct highly skilled psychological and risk assessments
  • Develop and revise formulations as appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide a high-quality service
Requirements
  • UKCP psychotherapists/ psychotherapeutic counsellors with full clinical membership
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy
  • BACP MBACP Accredited Counsellors
  • Clinical experience in delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Experience of working with adults presenting with common mental health problems
  • At least 6 months' work experience in a healthcare service
  • Experience of working in a primary care mental health /IAPT service
