The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Rehabilitation Engineer to join our Kent Wheelchair Service team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will use your clinical and technical skills to assess the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs, and to prescribe manual and powered wheelchairs with associated posture management and pressure management accessories.

Responsibilities and Requirements
- Assess the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs
- Prescribe manual and powered wheelchairs with associated posture management and pressure management accessories
- Provide clinical and technical guidance to other clinical and non-clinical colleagues in the service
- Supervise junior staff and work with clinical and operational colleagues to deliver contractual service performance of a high quality
- Liaise with service user groups and other stakeholders to facilitate joint working and identify opportunities for improving service user outcomes

Requirements
- Registered as a Clinical Technologist or with the HCPC as a Clinical Scientist
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, including hand power tools, and competent to operate appropriate workshop equipment
- Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills combined with the ability to manage a varied workload
- Experience of working with patients with long-term or deteriorating medical conditions would be advantageous
