Vacancy - Project Engineer

KAP Technical Limited, a market leader in Food Processing Equipment manufacture, is seeking an outstanding candidate to join their existing projects team.

The successful candidate will have a sound engineering knowledge and a track record of successful project delivery, ideally within the food industry or an engineering environment.

This is an office-based role with visits to customer sites being part of the role. Overnight UK trips and overseas travel may also be a requirement of this position.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Take responsibility for contracts from receipt of order through to successful install and handover.
  2. Develop and agree the project scope with the customer and sales team.
  3. Own and maintain the project schedule (Gantt chart).
  4. Produce project documentation (internal project numbers, scope of supply, timing plan, P&ID, BOMs, and provisional layout drawings).
  5. Specify and source bought-out components and equipment.
  6. Manage project change.
  7. Organise delivery and installation of the equipment.
  8. Customer acceptance testing (FAT/PDI).
  9. Packing and shipping (including export paperwork if required).
  10. Installation plan, booking installation resources, and documentation (RAMs).
  11. Site acceptance testing.
  12. Training and documentation handover.
  13. Remain commercially aware throughout the life of the project, ensuring that invoices are issued on time.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in a similar role in a process engineering environment, ideally in the food processing industry.
  2. Proven history of running successful engineering projects.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with all parts of the business internally.
  4. An enthusiastic approach with a 'can-do' attitude.
  5. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and MS Project.
  6. Proficient in the use of Autocad LT.
  7. A knowledge of steam systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and pipework, along with a basic understanding of electrical control systems would be highly beneficial.
  8. UK driving license required.
