Support Educator for SEND Team

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Support Educator to join our successful Special Educational Needs (SEN) team at The Dean Academy. This is an excellent opportunity to work with students who require additional support, and contribute to their academic and personal growth.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of special educational needs and disabilities, ideally with experience working with secondary age students. They will also possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively with students, and a commitment to inclusive practice across the curriculum.
This permanent role involves working 28 hours per week, term time only, including inset days. The salary for this position is £25,183 - £25,992 per annum, pro-rata. As a member of our SEND team, you will be responsible for supporting students with Cognition and Learning, and Communication and Interaction needs, among others. Your expertise will play a vital role in maximizing their learning potential and promoting their progress.

Responsibilities
- Support students with special educational needs and disabilities in a safe and inclusive environment.
- Develop and implement tailored plans to meet individual student needs, ensuring optimal academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a comprehensive and challenging curriculum that caters to diverse learning styles.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers to ensure seamless transitions and consistent support.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress, identifying areas for improvement and celebration.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in Education or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities, with experience working with secondary age students.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- Possess a positive and solutions-focused attitude.
