The Wayman Group is seeking a talented Theatre Educator to join their team at their esteemed independent school in Enfield. As a key member of the faculty, you will be responsible for igniting the passion for the dramatic arts in students of all ages and backgrounds.

Your role will involve spearheading the planning and delivery of engaging drama lessons, curating captivating school productions, and providing invaluable guidance and support to students. To excel in this position, you will need a solid foundation in drama education, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine love for working with young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic drama lessons that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Develop and implement a captivating drama curriculum that incorporates elements of improvisation, scriptwriting, and performance techniques
  • Direct and oversee school productions, guiding students in their performances and helping them develop their creative talents
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support for individual development
  • Organize drama clubs and extracurricular activities to engage students outside of the classroom and foster a love for the dramatic arts
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and mutual respect
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in drama education, ensuring that your teaching methods remain innovative and effective

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Theatre Educator or similar role, with a strong track record of inspiring and motivating students
  • Strong knowledge of drama techniques, theatre history, and contemporary performance styles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents
  • Passionate about inspiring and motivating students, with a genuine love for the dramatic arts
  • Organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results
  • Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to the needs of different learners, with a commitment to inclusivity and diversity
  • Experience in directing school productions is highly desirable, but not essential
