Senior Legal Advisor - UK Qualified Solicitor

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our team at Symes Collins. As a UK qualified solicitor with a strong background in funds and asset management, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective management of all legal matters and providing strategic legal advice across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance and support to the organisation on a variety of matters, including investment transactions, strategic projects, corporate governance, and legal regulatory compliance.
  • Advise on the structuring and formation of investment vehicles, including funds and SPVs.
  • Review, negotiate, and draft a wide range of commercial agreements, including client agreements, data-related contracts, supplier contracts, non-disclosure agreements, employment contracts, and enterprise/corporate partnership agreements.
  • Identify legal risks associated with the business operations, products, and services and develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks, including contracts, intellectual property, data privacy, cybersecurity, and third-party management.
  • Oversee and/or support third-party management, including selection, due diligence, contract negotiation, and ongoing performance evaluation.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues affecting the company's business practices or operations and provide clear and practical advice to stakeholders, keeping them informed about legal developments and their potential impact on the business.
  • Review and advise on legal and regulatory filings, including offering memorandums, prospectuses, and regulatory filings.

Requirements:

  • UK qualified solicitor with at least 5 years' experience gained in funds or asset management.
  • Strong understanding of UK regulation as applicable in an investment manager, particularly when reviewing mandates.
  • Broad legal experience and ability to interact with senior management and influence external stakeholders on legal matters that impact the UK business.
  • Experience of M&A is useful as the group is expanding.
