Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education in Kingston upon Thames.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students' educational and personal development. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all students have access to learning opportunities and have the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities, preparing and organizing materials and resources as needed.
  • Facilitate student engagement and participation in classroom activities, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing social and communication skills, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of individual learning plans.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events, supporting student development and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting student development and well-being.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
