Millwright Technician

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team at Thomas Talent Network. As a Millwright, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility.

• Ensure Facility Safety: Work safely and effectively, adhering to all applicable Federal, Provincial, Unionized, local company, and facility health and safety, fire, environmental quality, and general ordinances/policies.
• Support Company Objectives: Enhance facility safety, product quality, and manufacturing productivity while reducing costs.
• Identify Opportunities: Identify and communicate opportunities to improve the operation and maintenance of equipment and production systems.
• Troubleshoot Issues: Troubleshoot production and quality issues in collaboration with operating personnel.
• Perform Predictive Maintenance: Perform predictive and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment in a timely manner.
• Complete Documentation: Complete all required documentation, including work orders, parts signouts, requisitions, and quality signoff sheets.
• Take Ownership: Take ownership of repairs, ensuring jobs are completed within time demands.
• Perform Welding and Machining Tasks: Perform welding and machining tasks as needed.
• Troubleshoot Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems: Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Respond to Work Orders: Respond to work orders and service calls promptly to minimize downtime.
• Log Parts: Log parts out of inventory and record as necessary.
• Adhere to Quality Control Standards: Adhere to internal quality control standards.
• Report Unsafe Conditions: Report any unsafe conditions or dangerous behavior to the appropriate manager.
• Participate in Training: Participate in required training.
• Coordinate Maintenance: Coordinate preventive and demand maintenance and discretionary work assignments with the supervisor as requested.
• Operate Hoisting and Lifting Devices: Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks, and tractors, to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair.
• Inspect and Examine Machinery: Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
• Assemble Machinery: Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
• Perform Other Tasks: Perform other tasks and duties as assigned to ensure the continued success of the company.

• Valid Industrial Millwright Certificate 433A: Valid Industrial Millwright Certificate 433A.
• 35 Years of Previous Millwright Experience: 35 years of previous millwright experience.
• Competency in Welding, Minor Fabricating, and Rigging: Competency in welding, minor fabricating, and rigging.
• Good Working Knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics: Good working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting.
• Experience Operating General-Purpose Machine Shop Equipment: Experience operating all general-purpose machine shop equipment.
• Ability to Work as a Team Member: Ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.
• Strong Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
