Job Description

GB Recruitment is seeking a skilled Logistics Assistant to join our team in England, Scotland, and Wales. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our daily distribution requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manual Handling and Distribution: You will be responsible for undertaking manual handling, distribution, and coordination of timely deliveries to a strict schedule and deadline.
  • Warehouse Operations: You will work alongside our warehouse staff to coordinate the systematic selection of items that require loading onto your assigned vehicle prior to delivery, followed by unloading goods at source and distributing as required.
  • Loading and Unloading: You will be responsible for picking specified items from storage or warehouses, then loading items ready for shipment onto vehicles, prior to accompanying a driver where you will unload and dispatch goods at source.
  • Coordination and Time Management: You will ensure the loading and unloading of specified stock to an assigned vehicle is coordinated in a timely manner, while accompanying a driver within your designated geographical area.
Requirements:
  • Previous Experience: Previous practical experience as a Logistics Assistant, within a logistics or similar environment, would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage your own workload.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with other team members.
  • Qualifications: A recognized qualification in Manual Handling or Logistics will be well received.
