Credit Controller Job Description

Clarkson Evans is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join our team. As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing our company's credit risk and ensuring timely payments from our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and resolve customer queries and disputes in a professional and timely manner.
  • Investigate and reconcile discrepancies in customer accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial and Production teams to resolve issues that may impact invoicing and payment.
  • Defend contra charges from builders and ensure all contra charges are logged and resolved.
  • Request credit notes as required and agreed with the Commercial Manager or Heads of Commercial.
  • Manage customer retention accounts and recommend retention caps to the Commercial Managers.
  • Prepare cumulative spreadsheets and ensure they are provided to Accounts Receivable.
  • Ensure Final Accounts are sent in a timely manner and update the Finished Sites Log accordingly.
  • Prepare aged debt reports for review with the wider Commercial, Operational, and Finance teams.
  • Maintain the Builder Requirements list and ensure it is up to date.
Requirements:
  • Previous Credit Control experience.
  • Good IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen and a good understanding of the key elements of the business.
