Job Overview:

TQR's Plymouth site is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their moulding team. As part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the production of plastic components using injection moulding machines.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Maintenance Technician to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering and previous experience in a technical role.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate injection moulding machines to produce high-quality plastic components according to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot any issues with the machines or processes through root cause analysis and technical fault finding.
  • Complete routine planned maintenance tasks, including weekly, monthly, and six-monthly checks.
  • Work closely with the PM Technician to complete annual maintenance tasks on machines.
  • Ensure the safe operation of equipment and adherence to health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including operators, quality technicians, engineers, and shift leaders.
  • Document production data and maintain accurate records through SAP.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (mechanical or electrical).
  • Previous experience in a technical-based role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to fault-find on mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Salary and Working Hours:

The estimated salary for this role is between £40,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate must be able to work a continual 3 on 3 off night shift pattern working 23:00 to 11:00. The salary advertised is inclusive of 48% shift premium.
