About the Role


As an Adult Psychiatry Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a common understanding of the problems patients are experiencing, taking a lead role in developing strategic management plans, and utilizing your therapeutic skills to create constructive pathways to recovery. You will work closely with fellow healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care and support.


Key Responsibilities


Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Conducting new referral assessments, delivering therapy, or referring to psychology colleagues for relevant interventions
  • Performing basic administrative tasks, such as keeping records of test results and monitoring treatment plans
  • Teaching and training junior doctors, medical students, and other multidisciplinary team members

Qualifications and Requirements


To be considered for this role, you must hold a MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) or equivalent qualification. You should also be CCT or CESR certified and included on the GMC's Specialist Register.
