Job Summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapy Assistant to join their Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Service. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in facilitating the early supported discharge of stroke patients and providing rehabilitation to individuals with neurological conditions.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation programs. Your duties will include:

  • Carrying out rehabilitation programs under the direction of senior therapists
  • Supporting patients with daily living activities and promoting independence
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, service development, and housekeeping activities

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • English fluency and GCSE Maths
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or allied health professional setting
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day role of a Therapy Assistant and awareness of the roles of senior therapists
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
  • Positive attitude, empathy, and social skills
