About the Role
:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Librarian to join our team at Ark Priory Primary Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the library is at the heart of school life, promoting a culture of reading within the school and local community.
Key Responsibilities
:- Library Management
- Oversee the management of the library, including internal fittings and stocking, to ensure it operates efficiently.
- Review policies and procedures to guarantee the library meets service specifications.
- Provide regular reports on the needs and performance of the library, maintaining accurate records to monitor its effectiveness and develop an annual library improvement plan.
- Manage the library's staff and student helpers to optimize its operations.
- Maintain the library management system, keeping current records of all learning resources.
- Lead independent learning groups, offering guidance and advice to students and staff to create an inspiring learning resource.
- Organize various events and enrichment activities throughout the year to promote reading and the library's use.
- Liaise with school departments to ensure staff and students have access to relevant learning resources, including up-to-date ICT facilities.
- Assist in staff professional development to help them effectively utilize the library's resources, identifying current and future resource needs.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of children and young people.
- Comply with Ark data protection rules and procedures.
- Liaise with colleagues and external contacts at all levels of seniority with confidence, tact, and diplomacy.
- Collaborate with Ark Central and other academies in the network to establish best practices, offering support as needed.
What We Offer
:A competitive salary of £28,941 - £32,309 (pro rata) per annum, reflecting the importance of this role in supporting academic excellence and enhancing the student experience.
