Overhead Linesmen Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Overhead Linesmen Instructor to join our Training Academy Team at ENWL. The successful candidate will be responsible for training and educating individuals in both live and dead overhead work up to and including 33kV.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate training solutions to meet individual and business needs for all ENWL staff and contractors working on behalf of ENWL Limited.
• Carry out trade test assessments and approve ready for authorization interviews.
• Deliver additional training relevant to experience and training.
• Conduct field assessment and coaching of staff across ENWL.
• Conduct internal audits of Live Line Rubber Glove Teams in line with Live Line Safety Case.
• Develop, design, review, and maintain all training material, including PowerPoint presentations, workbooks, and 'on job' books to ensure they are up to date and in-line with all current codes of practice, regulations, and safe working practices.
• Review and propose updates to the overhead linesperson authorization codes, descriptions, assessments, and interviews.
• Support the Policy team and be a key contact regarding consulting with manufacturers of overhead linespersons' personal protection equipment, climbing equipment, and tools.
• Support the development and implementation of new policy and standards related to overhead lines.
• Provide subject matter guidance to overhead lines innovation projects as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum C&G level 2 Qualification.
• Holds an ENWL authorization in a craft, engineering, or another Distribution Network Operator authorization (preferable).
• LV Live Line experience (essential).
• HV live line, short stick experience (highly desirable).
• Understanding of ENWL operational training and competence requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of operational Codes of Practice, Electricity Policy Documents, and Distribution Safety Rules.
• Good interpersonal, teamwork, report writing, presentation, and public speaking skills.

• A full UK Driving License.
