Job Description:
The role of Technical Project Lead - Global Turbine Upgrades is a challenging one, requiring the ability to interpret and prioritise requirements and challenges from multiple sources. As a key member of our team, you will lead your projects proactively, engaging with engineering, supply chain, field service and commercial teams to ensure timely and on-budget delivery, aligned with required quality and safety levels.
A Snapshot of Your Day:
- You will coordinate, plan and supervise completion of the engineering phases, ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with our quality and safety standards.
- Work closely with supply chain to ensure materials are ordered and supplied on time and in full, minimising delays and costs.
- Facilitate technical discussions with engineering teams to resolve any issues or concerns that may arise during project execution.
- Clearly understanding requirements of clients, so that they can be actioned by our organisation, are a key part in the early stages of a project.
- Work collaboratively with the planner to achieve on-time delivery, meeting client expectations and deadlines.
- Regular commercial discussions with the CPM (Commercial PM) team to manage the trading position, ensuring that our financial objectives are met.
- Arrange Installation/Commissioning upgrades on turbine packages around the world, working closely with our field service teams and site management.
- Brief and train the field service team and site management prior to commencing work on site, ensuring that they have the necessary information and resources to complete the task successfully.
- Ensure that the scope of work is clear and any variations handled in a structured manner, minimising potential disputes or claims.
- Drive OTD (On-Time Delivery) and demonstrate a 'Customer/Safety first' mentality, always putting the needs of our clients and employees at the forefront of decision-making.
What You Bring:
- Excellent project management knowledge and skills, including the use of SAP, One PM, MS-Project and other general IT tools.
- A can-do approach and excellent communication and people skills, able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clients, colleagues and third-party vendors.
- A clear and organised mind, enabling reflection on the best way to handle difficult situations and make informed decisions.
- Good business acumen and commercial awareness, able to understand and manage the financial implications of project decisions.
- Possess a degree-level education or equivalent technical degree, although this is not essential for consideration.
