About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our client's engineering team at their busy distribution centre in Wakefield. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining high-volume picking machinery and ensuring all maintenance records are up-to-date and accurate.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and optimize performance
  • Conducting thorough inspections to identify potential issues and implementing corrective actions
  • Collaborating with external contractors to resolve complex maintenance challenges
  • Providing guidance and support to junior engineers on site
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent
  • Experience with fault finding and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
