Talent Finder has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our team in Maidstone, Kent.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing small mechanical projects on time and to budget, with a focus on automotive and/or aerospace engineering. A good knowledge of assembly fixtures, inspection equipment and mould design with vacuum forming tooling and upholstery design experience also an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage small mechanical projects from concept to handover phase, ensuring timely completion and meeting budget and quality requirements.
  2. Directly manage customer requirements to ensure project concepts meet customer expectations prior to delivery.
  3. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop and modify design plans, ensuring designs meet project requirements, specifications, and standards.
  4. Review project designs at various phases before completion to ensure products meet specification and budget.
  5. Assist in identifying and resolving design-related issues and challenges that arise during the design and manufacturing process.
  6. Report work in progress, plan design and engineering team workload with other project colleagues to ensure efficiency and required progress.
  7. This is a hands-on role, where the ideal candidate will also be expected to work closely with production engineering in a workshop environment, advising and assisting with the completion of assemblies to the required specification, paying close attention to quality of product.
  8. There are also times where the successful candidate will be expected to work off-site during the commissioning phase of finished projects alongside our multiskilled engineers.
