Senior Lecturer in Engineering

Solent University, a leading institution in higher education, is seeking a highly qualified Senior Lecturer in Engineering to join its esteemed faculty. As a key member of the Department of Science and Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of engineers.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and deliver high-quality engineering education across various disciplines, including Mechanical, Electronic, and Renewable Energy Engineering.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of new MEng modules, focusing on Advanced Automation & Control, Mechatronics, and Autonomous Vehicles.
- Supervise individual and group projects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, fostering innovation and excellence.
- Provide pastoral care as a personal tutor and contribute to curriculum development across mechanical, electronic, and renewable energy engineering programs.
- Engage in research, innovation, and knowledge exchange activities to ensure teaching is research-informed and promotes student employability.
- Participate in student recruitment and outreach activities, showcasing the university's commitment to excellence.
- A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or a closely related field, or a PhD being desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in automation and control systems, with a strong background in both theory and practical applications.
- Experience in quality management, product development processes, and familiarity with autonomous vehicle technologies.
- A proven track record of successful project supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Strong programming skills and familiarity with industry-standard software tools for engineering design and simulation.
- Associate fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), with a higher education teaching qualification or fellowship (FHEA) being desirable.
- A commitment to innovative teaching methods and student-centred learning.
