Manufacturing Technician

At Owlstone Medical, we are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing/Assembly Technician to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the inspection, cleaning, assembly, and testing of our product ranges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly and Packing: Assemble, test, and pack Owlstone product ranges using relevant QMS documentation.
- Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning of parts required for assemblies using solvents in an ultrasonic bath.
- Shipping: Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure packages are ready for collection and daily shipping of Breath Biopsy kits.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming goods and finished products for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, including quantities produced, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of assembly materials and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the production team to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on assembly equipment to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime.
Requirements:
- Novice level of subject area expertise with a focus on expanding knowledge and experience.
- Task-oriented impact with day-to-day interactions primarily with immediate team members and line management.
- Limited complexity, typically involving multi-tasking of straightforward and routine tasks following established processes and procedures within a given subject area.
- Requires moderate supervision and some degree of autonomy in performing tasks.
Experience:
Prior experience in a small to medium volume, high value electro-mechanical manufacturing or assembly environment is required. Experience in manually building or assembling items that require repetitive tasks to be completed with a high attention to detail is also necessary.
Knowledge:
Demonstrable knowledge of Quality Management System and the ability to follow relevant processes/procedures accurately is required. Experience of logging and coding on an MRP system is also necessary.
Education:
GCSE Level Standard or equivalent is required.
