About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at Thomas Swan & Co Ltd, a leading independent manufacturer of performance and speciality chemicals.

As a key member of our engineering & maintenance management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a new maintenance strategy and plan for our site, including the creation of an effective workflow system to maximise performance and drive utilisation.

You will provide leadership, management, and coaching to your team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver a high-quality maintenance service. You will also be responsible for the development of high-quality maintenance systems and processes, and for planning site shutdowns, including contractor management.

We are looking for someone with a strong appreciation of the value of systems and processes in delivering great service, and who can collaborate, challenge, and influence across all site teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing organisation, and to play a key part in the development of a high-quality maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a new maintenance strategy and plan for the site
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance professionals
  • Develop high-quality maintenance systems and processes
  • Plan site shutdowns, including contractor management
  • Collaborate with other site teams to drive business performance

About You:

  • Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a complex and dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with others
  • Minimum of HNC/HND in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
